Ultrasound

Ultrasound therapy creates small sound waves that in effect vibrate and massage soft tissues and muscle. These sound waves do an excellent job in facilitating the body’s healing process in addition to decreasing scar tissue formation.

Ultrasound Therapy

Ultrasound therapy uses sound vibration to massage muscles and other soft tissues. This therapy promotes healing by breaking up adhesions, or areas where scar tissue has formed between muscle fibers, effectively “locking” them up.

This is not the same type of ultrasound that you may picture that is used to view internal organs or a developing fetus. This therapy uses different frequencies and does not require a monitor to visualize the echo of the sounds.

The ultrasonic device also generates heat in muscle tissues which promotes circulation and helps spasms to relax.

Ultrasound therapy, when used with massage and other chiropractic services, can help promote healing for injured joints and sore muscles.
